I am a marine mammal researcher and project leader specializing in the integrated study of cetacean ecology, behavior, and population dynamics. My research focuses primarily on the dolphins and porpoises in the Black Sea, while also contributing to studies of large whale migration and site fidelity.
My academic background is in biology, and my work integrates multiple complementary approaches to better understand marine mammals. I combine field-based research with quantitative analysis, using visual surveys, photo-identification, passive acoustic monitoring, aerial and underwater imaging, and advanced statistical methods.
I currently lead a research project investigating behavioral lateralization, group structure, and vocal activity in bottlenose dolphin mother–calf pairs in the southwestern Black Sea (Zonguldak, Türkiye). In this role, I designed the study framework and coordinate all stages of the project, including field surveys, data management, statistical analysis, and international collaboration.
